Lisset Lanza is a writer and educational professional based in New York City.

Howdy!

My name’s Lisset Lanza, and I currently support faculty and students as a member of the administrative team at NYU’s School of Professional Studies. Here, I’m expanding my expertise in the operations and initiatives associated with university leadership as I develop my career in higher education.

Previously, I was an editorial assistant at Dutton, a boutique imprint of Penguin Random House. I worked extensively on To Anyone Who Ever Asks by Howard Fishman, shortlisted for the Plutarch Award for best biography. I contributed editorially to titles by Jonathan Evison and Jeff Lindsay, as well as the New York Times Editors’ Choice Old Enough by Haley Jakobson and Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang, which will be produced for TV by Constance Wu.

I am open to freelance writing and editing as well as performing authenticity reads that involve Latin American characters, interpersonal violence, and mental illness. I’m also available for UGC opportunities in all things beauty, fashion, books, and more. Get in touch with me about this and anything else via my Contact page.

Causes

My volunteer work reflects my interest in several fields of study, including pedagogy and early education, animal welfare, and public health. Through my coursework and reporting, I’ve researched and written about policing, housing and homelessness, sustainability, and women of color in politics. I’m passionate about these subjects, and pride myself on my ability to provide nuanced and comprehensive analyses of systemic issues aided by my own experience.
