Born and raised in the Sunshine State, I attained my Associate of Arts while still in high school before moving to New York to earn my Bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Social and Cultural Analysis from New York University. I’m proud to be a first-generation college graduate, and I believe my education in journalism and sociology has shaped my research-oriented mindset, the application of which informs my passion for learning. I’ve always loved storytelling, and I find joy in reporting, creative writing, and overseeing the lifecycle of a book. Along with this, I’ve taken a keen interest in the theoretical and practical approaches of pedagogy as well as effective leadership in education. I use my background in texts and media every day as I continue to play a role in educational organizations by engaging with both schools and communities.
I live in New York City. I love fragrance, bar trivia, and taking the train upstate to hike on the weekends. You will never see me without a pair of gold hoop earrings and, despite my expertise in AP Stylebook, I’ll aways be an ardent supporter of Oxford commas.
